Breast Reconstruction Correction Using Alloderm Grafts

Case Details

This patient came to Dr. Baxter, a plastic surgeon in Mountlake Terrace, WA, after undergoing bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction using tissue expanders under the muscle followed by Mentor Siltex round saline implants. She healed with extremely thick scar capsules around the breast implants, resulting in loss of support and migration of the implants (as you can tell in the “Front View after 1st Breast Cancer Reconstruction” photo).

This patient came to Dr. Baxter seeking revision of the previous breast reconstruction. Dr. Baxter was able to correct both problems by reinforcing the breast implant capsules with Alloderm grafts, as you can see in the “Front View after Placement of Alloderm Grafts.”

One year after the Alloderm grafts, Dr. Baxter also performed a nipple/areolar reconstruction, as you can see in the last photo, titled “Front View after Nipple and Areolar Reconstruction.”
