Case Details
This patient came to Dr. Baxter, a plastic surgeon in the Seattle, WA, area, seeking a consultation for a breast augmentation. During her consultation she and Dr. Baxter discussed all of her options, and came to the conclusion that Dr. Baxter would not only increase the size of her breasts, but he would also decrease the size of her left areola. This was an issue that had been troubling her for quite some time. During the surgery Dr. Baxter inserted two smooth, round, saline breast implants manufactured by Allergan. A 450cc implant filled to 490cc’s was inserted into her right breast, while a 420cc implant filled to 450cc’s was inserted into her left breast. The implants were inserted through an incision around the base of the nipple. The reduction of the areola was performed on her left breast; this procedure elevated the left nipple as well as equalized the areolar diameter. The only visibly scars appear at the bottom of the nipple, and they are minimal.
