Case Details
Editor’s Note: This woman corrected her tuberous breasts using breast implants. Her breast augmentation surgery was very successful and she is extremely pleased. You can read her full story in the Visitor Story section, but here is an excerpt.
After feeling like a malformed freak for most of puberty and my adult life, I decided to research breast augmentation…The implant was placed above the muscle, as the surgeon believed strongly that ‘below muscle’ positioning was not going to correct tuberous breast deformity. As my tuberous deformity was more on the severe side, the breast tissue was scored (ie. sliced and stretched to ‘fan out’ the constricted tissue). the implant was placed within this stretched out capsule to keep it full and round, and encourage the tissue not to constrict again…Having this surgery was one of the best decisions I ever made…I feel so much more feminine and “normal.”
