A native of West Michigan, Dr. Douglas Leppink is certified as a cosmetic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry from Calvin College, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and received his Medical Degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Leppink completed his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He also completed a Research Fellowship involving wound healing with the Division of Transplantation at the Ohio State University Hospital. Dr. Leppink is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. As a member of the teaching faculty at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Council (MERC) Dr. Leppink is committed to educating and training the medical students and residents who will be the doctors of the future.
Dr. Leppink is on staff at Spectrum Health Hospitals and Surgery Centers, as well as the Centre for Plastic Surgery, which is an outpatient cosmetic surgical center located in Dr. Leppink‘s office. Within his field Dr. Leppink specializes in cosmetic surgery, and also has extensive experience in all aspects of breast reconstruction and microsurgery. He has been identified by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America and one of West Michigan’s ‘Top Docs’.
