Breast Lift
Any number of factors – weight fluctuations, pregnancy, breastfeeding, the natural aging process – can cause the bust line to lose its elasticity. When this happens, the breasts droop or sag, adding years to the body. The cosmetic procedure breast lift can restore your curves and make your body look more toned and youthful.
During breast lift, performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, Dr. Loewenstein makes an incision along the breast and discards surplus skin, fat, and tissue. He then tightens the bustline and, if necessary, repositions the nipple so that the breast looks natural. Breast lift takes one or more hours to perform but is generally considered an outpatient procedure. Many patients report some bruising, swelling, and temporary loss of feeling in the nipples, but most side effects subside as the breasts heal, usually within a few weeks time.

Breast Reduction
Large, heavy breasts can not only make a woman feel self conscious, but they can also make her physically uncomfortable. They often trigger serious back and neck pain and general discomfort, as well as lead to indentations (left behind by thick bra straps) on the shoulders. Women with such disproportionate breasts now, however, have an alternative: breast reduction surgery.
During breast reduction, performed under general anesthesia, Dr. Loewenstein makes an incision around the areola (the dark ring of skin around the nipple) and another below the breast. He then removes unnecessary fat, glandular tissue, and skin, then tightens the surrounding skin for optimal results.Breast reduction, performed on an outpatient basis, takes up to three hours to complete and may cause temporary swelling, bruising, and general discomfort. Breast Reconstruction
Many women who have undergone mastectomy feel self conscious about the appearance of their breasts post-procedure. Until recent years, these women did not have a permanent option that would restore symmetry and feminine curves – patients instead relied on bra padding and inserts. Nowadays, however, there is a procedure called breast reconstruction that can essentially rebuild the affected breast, thus immensely boosting the self esteem of patients.
Breast reconstruction may be performed at the time of the mastectomy, or it may be delayed until a later time, depending on the individual circumstances of the case. Depending on your unique case, Dr. Loewenstein will either use an implant-supported approach (in which a saline-filled or silicone implant is inserted under the muscle of the chest) or will fashion a new, natural-looking breast from your own tissue. This is commonly known as a Tram Flap. Because there are so many factors involved, Dr. Loewenstein will meet with you personally to devise an appropriate treatment plan.
Breast reconstruction is commonly performed on women who have had a mastectomy (removal of the breast due to cancer or precancerous condition) or who have breast deformities. Many women feel very insecure or self-conscious about the appearance of their breasts following mastectomy. Breast reconstruction allows their natural curves to be restored and can drastically improve quality of life.
