Daniel C. Morello, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a plastic surgeon with offices in New York City, NY, White Plains, NY, and Jupiter, FL. He believes that the single most important factor in the success of your cosmetic surgery is the plastic surgeon you select. Dr. Morello sets himself apart from and above the rest by offering individualized care, personalization, and attention to the fine details of aesthetic plastic surgery that are so often lost in the hustle and bustle of “assembly line” practices. These differences are of the utmost importance…like the difference between an off-the-rack garment and one that is finely hand-tailored.
Patients come to our practice because they have heard of this attention to detail and meticulous surgical techniques and because they desire the resulting natural look that Dr. Morello produces.
Dr. Morello brings an artist’s eye and talents to his cosmetic surgery, having been trained in sculpture, drawing, painting, and photography. He has maintained an interest in constructing whimsical and imaginative sand sculptures and castles.
“I believe that balance and harmony are important in cosmetic surgery, as in life. I strive to produce harmony between the way my patients feel and the way they look. This practice is known for the excellence of its surgical results, the individualized attention, and the compassionate and caring staff.”
Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants
Breast augmentation surgery is about art and skill and experience. The result is highly dependent on the skill of the surgeon, and is NOT the same from doctor to doctor. There is not one “best choice” of breast implant, incision, or placement. Each patient is unique and requires an individual analysis and plan.
Dr. Morello has significant experience in breast augmentation. He offers a choice of implant selection, incision type and implant placement, customizing the procedure for each patient. All procedures are done in the office under general anesthesia. Patients can return to their jobs and moderate activity within 5 days. We have a unique method of minimizing any pain after this surgery.
Most of our breast augmentation patients have:
- Minimal or no pain (even with submuscular implants)
- No bandages
- No special bras
- Minimal bruising
- No drains
- Prompt return to normal activities (3-5 days)
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Loss of skin elasticity, gravity and other factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breast-feeding ultimately affect the shape and firmness of your breasts. Patients who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts can have a breast lift to raise and firm them, resulting in a more youthful breast contour. Other patients may be unhappy that they have lost a significant amount of breast volume over time. In such cases, breast implants inserted in conjunction with a breast lift can increase breast size at the same time as the shape and position of the breasts is enhanced. This determination is made during your visit with Dr. Morello.
One method of lifting the breasts involves incisions around the areola, then downward and under the breast. After the skin is removed, the nipple and areola are shifted to a higher position. The areola, which in a sagging breast may have been stretched, can be reduced in size. Skin that was formerly located above the areola is brought down and together beneath it to reshape the breast. The nipples and areolas remain attached to underlying breast tissue, and this usually allows for the preservation of sensation and the ability to breast-feed.
Dr. Morello also can offer to some patients a new “Brazilian Breast Lift” which is done using a more limited incision, only your own tissue, and produces nice upper breast fullness naturally.
Breast lift surgery will make your breasts firmer and more uplifted. The position of your areolas and nipples will be enhanced, and the size of your areolas will be aesthetically pleasing. If we decide that it is desirable to enlarge your breasts at the same time as they are lifted, this will require insertion of breast implants.
The incisions from your breast lift surgery will heal and fade over time. It is important to realize, however, that the incision lines will be permanently visible. Fortunately, the incisions for your breast lift are in locations easily concealed by clothing, even low-cut necklines. Unless you gain or lose a significant amount of weight or become pregnant, your new breast shape should remain fairly constant. However, gravity and the effects of aging may eventually alter the size and shape of virtually every woman’s breasts.
