Dr. Downs
Ronald K. Downs, M.D., F.A.C.S., is the founder of The Centre, P.C., located in Elkhart, Indiana. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Other memberships include the American Medical Association, Ohio Valley Plastic Surgery Society and Rush Surgical Society.
Dr. Downs is active in the Elkhart County Medical Society, currently serving as its secretary and treasurer. He is also on the board of directors for the Indiana State Medical Association.
Dr. Downs completed his plastic surgery training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago and has practiced in the Elkhart area since 1992. He is board certified in plastic surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Although Dr. Downs' board certification and credentials attest to his knowledge, his surgical skill is the basis of his greatest recognition. Dr. Downs has an excellent reputation and takes pride in helping his patients achieve a natural appearance.
He is also known for his caring and compassionate approach and his commitment to achieving the best results possible. Dr. Downs strives to educate his patients about each and every procedure in a warm and caring manner.
Dr. Downs and The Centre, P.C., are involved in many community charities and organizations. In addition, Dr. Downs has appeared on several television and radio talk shows as an expert in the field of plastic surgery.

Dr. Viscardi
Patrick Viscardi, M.D., joined the surgical team at The Centre in 1998. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester, New York. Dr. Viscardi completed his internship and general surgery residency at the University of Louisville, where he served as chief resident from 1994 to 1995.
To advance his education and elevate his skills, Dr. Viscardi also completed a fellowship in hand surgery in Louisville at the Kleinert Institute of Hand and Microsurgery. This extra level of education endowed Dr. Viscardi with a comprehensive understanding of the specific physiology and treatment of the hand. Board certified in plastic surgery, he completed his residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
During his extensive studies, Dr. Viscardi earned numerous distinctions, including being awarded the Dr. Glen H. Leak Memorial Summer Fellowship by the American Cancer Society in 1986, as well as receiving academic citations in calculus, cell biology and statistics. He has also been involved in the publication of several articles related to plastic surgery.
Dr. Viscardi's professional training encompasses all areas of hand, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Hiram C. Polk, Jr. Surgical Society, and the American College of Surgeons.
